News nwc: march 15 deadline to verify water meters before additional services are discontinued

the national water company (nwc) stressed the need to verify water meters through its digital channels before march 15, 2025. nwc indicated that failure to verify information will result in the suspension of additional services such as requests and reports raising, up to the suspension of water service.the company indicated that it has harnessed all its official channels to implement water meter verification requests, noting that it has dedicated a web page on its official website that includes a guide and answers to frequently asked questions (faq) about verificating the information of water service meters. this is part of the initiative to verify meters information and link them to the national identity or residence of the actual beneficiary, which will allow customers to fully benefit from water services and upgrade reliability of the meters.nwc called upon its customers who have not verified the water meter information present in their properties to take advantage of the deadline, at the end of which additional services will be stopped and no request, service or complaint will be completed for the beneficiary, pointing out that the last measures resulting from the lack of verification is to disconnect service from the meter until verification and linkage of its information with nwc. the company explained that the verification of the meter information allows the actual beneficiary to request services, follow their status through digital channels, and receive the bills and sms related to their meter. beneficiaries can also know the details of their respective account, follow their consumption and receive notifications in case it increases. nwc pointed out that the verification of the water service meter guarantees the rights of everyone, whether owner or tenant, and that after the end or termination of the lease contract for properties that have independent meters, the water meter returns in the name of the owner, but if the property is in several housing units, the owners must form an owners' association and appoint a representative to verify the meter. the company indicated that if there is a group of tenants in one property with a common meter, the meter remains linked to the owner of the property, and if the meter is in the name of a deceased person, the legal agent of the heirs must verify the meter information by adding the account and attaching the legal power of attorney.
