The National Water Company "NWC" announced today that it has successfully completed the integration phases of the sectors that began in early November 2020. The final step was completed with the integration of six clusters under its umbrella. The company said that it has officially integrated the last four regions, namely Qassim, Hail, Al Jouf and Northern Border, into its scope of operations and named them "Northern Cluster".

NWC has succeeded in implementing its strategic program by integrating 13 administrative regions across the Kingdom into six clusters under its umbrella to achieve the goals of the National Water Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030 in restructuring the water sector.

It began its journey with the integration of Madinah and Tabuk regions under the name of Northwest Cluster as Phase 1, followed by the integration of Riyadh region governorates under the name of Central Cluster and Eastern region under the name of Eastern Cluster as Phase 2 on March 1. Phase 3 of the sector integration program began in early July 2021 with the integration of Makkah region governorates and centers under the Western Cluster and the integration of Assir, Jazan, Najran and Al-Baha regions under the Southern Cluster. On November 1, the schedule ended with the integration of four regions, namely Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf and Northern Border under the name Northern Cluster.

The National Water Company confirmed that the sector integration program, which is accredited by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture "MEWA", aims to create a modern environment with administrative and technical conditions to increase the efficiency of operation and performance in administrative, technical and technological terms by unifying regulations, policies and procedures to achieve balance in providing sustainable and quality services.

NWC pointed out that the sector integration project is the first step to engage the private sector to increase the efficiency of operational processes, fill technical gaps, and localize technology and technical expertise through operation and maintenance management contracts with local and global alliances to conclude concession contracts in line with the objectives of the National Water Strategy and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

The company said, "We have succeeded in planning and implementing our strategic program by integrating 13 administrative regions across the Kingdom into 6 clusters under our umbrella to achieve the goals of the National Water Strategy and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 in restructuring the water sector, which will have a direct impact on improving the services offered, creating investment opportunities, and attracting local and external capital to the water sector.

NWC shared that the implementation of the program has taken more than 315,000 man-hours spent by more than 320 senior, operational and support task forces, 25 ambassadors for the pathways of change and empowerment, and 32 change management training programs to achieve streamlined integration and consolidation, including financial and administrative systems, technical and technological programs, executive regulations, and administrative and operational mechanisms of the National Water Company, as well as more than 2,000 training hours to ensure continuity of business implementation.
