NWC starts 15 water and sanitation projects in Al Baha worth over SR 591 million

​The National Water Company (NWC) announced that it has started implementing 15 water and sanitation projects in the Al Baha region in the Southern Cluster, including pipelines and networks of more than 534 kilometers at a cost of over 591 million Saudi Riyals. These projects are part of NWC's ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans for infrastructure development in the water and environment sector based on initiatives to expand the range of services offered to customers.

The water projects that have begun implementation include 10 projects in the Al Baha region, which will cover several districts in the city of Al Baha, as well as several governorates including Baljurashi, Qalwa, Al Mekhwah, Al Mandaq, Al Qura, and Al Hajra, and the centers of Nawan, Bani Kabir, and Al Jawah. These projects include transmission lines and networks with a length of more than 249 kilometers, 8 operational reservoirs with a total capacity of 24,500 cubic meters, and pumping stations with a total capacity of over 16,000 cubic meters per day.
The company stated that it has started the implementation of 5 wastewater projects in the Al Baha region, covering several governorates, namely Baljurashi, Al Aqiq and Qalwa. These projects include transmission lines and networks with a length of more than 285 kilometers and lifting stations with a total capacity of more than 18,000 cubic meters per day.
NWC emphasized that these projects are part of its efforts to strengthen the water distribution system, eliminate environmental damage, achieve water security and ecological balance, increase coverage, and provide sustainable quantities of drinking water. The company stressed that it continues to implement its strategic plans to improve operational efficiency in the water and environmental sectors in accordance with the highest standards of quality and performance to achieve the goals of the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.​
