Brief:
Engr. Al-Mutlaq is currently the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has more than 20 years of experience in urban planning, implementation of mega development and infrastructure projects for cities and regions. He is specialized in local economic development (LED) studies, policy formulation, regional and sectoral strategies development, governance, and business modeling. He has a record of accomplishment by directly supervising the work of comprehensive urban plans for several cities and regions in the Kingdom, including the implementation of some national programs and projects. His field and strategic experience in leading some organizations has contributed to achieving growth and development in the areas of excellence, institutional building, capacity development, restructuring and adaptation required to implement various initiatives and programs to achieve national goals related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Engr. Al-Mutlaq is currently leading a number of national initiatives related to urban transformation and sustainable development in the Kingdom, including coordination with various specialized international institutions and relevant UN agencies.
