Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University. He was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture on 15 January  2015. In May 2016, a Royal Decree was issued to amend the name of the Ministry of Agriculture to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, to which liabilities associated with water and environment were assigned. Thereupon, AlFadley became the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.


For 13 years, AlFadley worked in the petroleum industry before joining Almarai Co. in 1996, where he was the General Manager and Deputy CEO of Almarai main factories in Al-Kharj. Then he was appointed CEO from 2000 to 2015. 


He served as chairman of the International Dairy and Juice Limited, a joint venture between PepsiCo and Almarai. He also chaired the Dairy and Food Polytechnic, which was established in partnership between Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Vocational Training and Almarai Company to support Saudization programs in the dairy industry. 


Moreover, Al-Fadley chaired the board of directors of the Modern Food Industries (MFI) (Seven Days) and United Farmers Holding Company (UFHC), and he was a board member of the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), and a member of the Engineering Board of the College of Engineering, King Saud University.

In his capacity as the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, he is currently the Chairman of  the Board of Directors for several entities comprising the General Food Security Authority “GFSA", the Saline Water Conversion Corporation "SWCC", the General Organization for Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea, the General Authority for Irrigation “SIO", the National Water Company “NWC", the Saudi Water Partnership Company “SWPC", the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company “SALIC", the Saudi Investment Recycling Company “SIRC", the National Agricultural Services Company, the Agricultural Development Fund “ADF", and the King Abdulaziz Arabian Horse Center, the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development “Estidama", the National Center for Wildlife Development, the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plants and Animal Diseases “WEQAA", the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification “NCVC", the National Center for Meteorology, the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Compliance, the National Center for Waste Management, the National Center for Palm and Dates, the Environment Fund, the National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector, and the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program.  ​

The Minister has extensive experience in operational management, project management and investments. He is also well known for supporting corporate social responsibility projects, as he is a member of the Disabled Children's Association (DCA), as well as supporting the training of the national workforce and the Saudization of jobs in different sectors. He is also engaged in activities that aim at the conservation of national resources and agricultural development.

The National Water Company (a Saudi joint stock company, wholly owned by the state represented by the Public Investment Fund) was established in 2008, providing water and wastewater services on sound commercial bases in accordance with the international best practices.
