Under its continued efforts to implement it strategic plans to prepare the infrastructure of water and environmental services sector, the National Water Company (NWC) has announced the completion of the construction and operation of the strategic water storage system located at the Salboukh water purification station north of Riyadh city. The system’s design capacity is one million cubic meters. This is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to implement, at a total cost exceeding 403 million Saudi Riyals
The project aims to improve the quality of water services, continue service during operational incidences, , and keeping pace with the comprehensive urban renaissance in the capital Riyadh, which requires the establishment of new water and service projects.
The company explained that Salboukh strategic storage system project included the implementation of six cylindrical water reservoirs with an approximate capacity of 167,000 cubic meters per tank, and a pumping station with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day. NWC indicated that the project operates at its full capacity of one million cubic meters, to support the supply of its customers with water in several districts in the north of Riyadh.
On the other hand, the company confirmed that it would continue to implement at accelerated pace, many of its initiatives related to vital infrastructure projects and complete them within the specified deadlines, and work to provide sustainable water services of quality according to the highest standards. This is to keep pace with its performance indicators, raise the level of services provided, and achieve the goals of this important vital sector in accordance with the ambitious vision of the Kingdom 2030.
