Under the patronage of NWC’s CEO, Dr. Loay Al-Musallam, and executive managers, NWC’s Change Department held a workshop covering the company’s achievement throughout 2011 and until mid 2012. The workshop was initiated by welcoming the CEO and the attendees, followed by a presentation about the company’s status and achievements. As part of the program, the Emtiyaz program achievements were presented by the Head of Corporate Office, Mr. Rashid Aljalajil, emphasizing KPIs, the company’s strategies, and pillars of transformation. In addiiton, he presented CAPEX executed projects and the associated cost optimization. HR Executive Manager, Mr. Nawaf Al-Daijy, presented the challenges the company encountered from the day it was founded, showing stages of evolvement from plans into tangible achievements and international recognition. He also emphasized the importance of the company’s primary assets – its human capital – and discussed the prioritized goals for 2012, including setting up the business units organizational structure, implementing the ERP system, improving performance, allocating strategic objectives, determining the responsibilities of middle management, enhancing communication, embracing corporate values, activating internal recruitment, and surveying customer satisfaction among other priorities. Following the presentation, the audience watched a documentary entitled “Our Water. Our Life” which discusses the importance of water to the world, water scarcity issues given the substantial population growth, and the fact that water consumption in Saudi Arabia is approximately 286 liters per day, ranking third among countries with the highest water consumption after USA and Canada. On the other hand, Mr. Abdullah Al-Shangiti, Training and Development Manager at Aramco, focused on improving performance, lowering operational costs, and enhancing water demand management. He also gave the audience a highly interactive exercise in which creative water-saving solutions had to be suggested. Prizes were handed out to those who offered the best suggestions. Following the exercise, Dr. Loay Al-Musallam held an open forum with the attendees, in the presence of various executive managers, to express his appreciation for their immense efforts, achievements, and contribution to corporate success. Attending employees had the opportunity to express their concerns and problems regarding work-related issues to Dr. Al-Musallam, who, in turn, encouraged them to discuss such matters openly, and ensured his team that all such issues will be resolved. He also informed them that any employee is welcome to visit his office on a daily basis between 12:30 pm and 1:30pm to discuss current problems and possible solutions.
