Dr Al Musallam: NWC continues its unmatched performance under the guidance of wise leadership

Dr Loay Al Mussalam, CEO of the National Water Company (NWC), stated that this year’s budget confirms the stability of the Saudi economy and shows remarkable growth and efficiency.   This continued progress is a result of a balanced policy under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and creates further development opportunities for the citizens and the country.
The current figures are SR 860 billion in expenditures and SR 715 billion in revenues.  This year’s budget will increase production performance, foster sustainable development, and expand economic competition in all government fields.  Dr Al Musallam said it creates a competitive atmosphere and a varied economy.  Previous budgets accomplished optimal results in terms of financial stability and credit rates.
In line with the government’s policy, NWC continues applying its strategic vision to promote the best quality services year after year.  Dr Al Musallam said that NWC’s highly skilled national staff exerted all possible efforts to raise its performance levels this year, achieving unmatched results since it was established.  The company will begin supervising nine cities in the near future, starting with Al-Madina Al-Munawara.  They have also signed several agreements to sell treated water valuing over SR 5 billion. The plan also includes investing in the latest advanced technology and sustainable development methods such as the strategic storage project.  This project will provide more than 14 million cubic meters of water over the next five years, which will help address population growth and high water demand as well as bringing in revenues upwards of SR 10 billion.
As part of its social responsibility, NWC developed various techniques to reduce the impact of unexpected environmental difficulties. The company also offered many public awareness campaigns on water rationing, supporting related government efforts in all regions of the Kingdom throughout the year.
The NWC continues to provide water and environmental services during the Hajj for the fourth consecutive year.  The company has won more than 18 national and international awards for these efforts.
The NWC continues its outstanding performance in line with international standard specifications and under the direction of the Ministry of Water and Electricity, the NWC Chairman and the members of the Board of Directors to achieve the government goals.
