​in the presence of engineer abdulrahman bin abdulmohsen al-fadhli, minister of environment, water and agriculture, his highness prince jalawi bin abdulaziz bin musaed, emir of najran region, inaugurated 10 development projects for the environment, water, and agriculture system in the region at a cost exceeding 325 million saudi riyals. his highness the emir also laid the foundation stone for another 19 projects in the region, worth over 825 million saudi riyals. these projects aim to serve regional population, to promote sustainability in the environmental, water, and food sectors, in line with the goals of the saudi vision 2030.on this occasion, his highness the emir of najran region thanked the custodian of the two holy mosques, king salman bin abdulaziz, and his royal highness the crown prince — may god protect them — for their caring to provide water, agricultural and environmental services to the population. he also thanked the minister of environment, water and agriculture; the ministry staff; and the affiliated sectors for their ongoing efforts, providing the services to beneficiaries and achieving food security for the kingdom. his highness stressed that these projects are a continuation of the great support for the citizens and residents in general, and najran region in particular by the wise leadership – may god protect them, in order to upgrade the quality of life and implement the projects that have direct impact of human life. .for his part, engineer al-fadhli emphasized that the launched projects support environmental, water, and agricultural sustainability in line with the objectives of the kingdom's vision 2030 and aim to improve quality of life in the region. he expressed his appreciation to h.h. emir of najran for his significant and continuous support of environmental, water, and agricultural systems, which has played an active role in accelerating the pace of development projects in the region. minister al-fadhli noted that the national water company (nwc) completed 6 water projects at a cost of over 201 million saudi riyals. these projects included expanding the water supply to the city of najran and the northern governorates in the phase i and completing drinking water networks in sharurah governorate in phase ii. the projects also included providing water and sanitation services to government and private entities in the southern sector of the region; relocating water lines that conflicted with flood-prevention project implementation by the amanah; and completing drinking water networks in the region. the projects included three additional initiatives, costing over 122 million saudi riyals. these initiatives were carried out by the national water company (nwc) to establish the third and fourth phases of the sanitation networks. the aim was to serve several neighborhoods in the city of najran. additionally, the ministry completed the operation of the chemical analysis laboratory for agricultural products in najran at a cost exceeding two million saudi riyals.additionally, the foundation stone-laying projects included 9 projects by the national water company aimed at improving water services in the region, with a total cost exceeding sr 422 million. these projects included constructing a transmission line from the al-ruwikba reservoirs to the al-manjam reservoir west of najran; completing drinking water networks in najran region contract 3; implementing a transmission line from pumping station 2 north of najran to the bir askar center; replacing and renovating the water network in najran region; fencing wells and water stations at various locations in the region. the projects also included implementing a transmission line from the habouna reservoir to al-sarh and the reception gate at the al-jaffa center, a transmission line from the qatan center to the thar governorate, completion of the najran high reservoir and its annex buildings (m3), and completion of the connection and improvement of water networks and transmission lines in various locations in the region's governorates.as part of the foundation-laying projects in the region, nwc implemented 3 projects to enhance sanitation services, support environmental sustainability, and eliminate environmental harm to the population. these projects cost over sr 323 million in total. these projects included completing sanitation networks in various locations in najran city, implementing emergency sewage reservoirs for the main transmission line in the southern districts of najran, and completing observations on the stp plant project in najran. on the other hand, mewa ministry is implementing a project to fill and secure abandoned, exposed, unclaimed wells in the region, in order to preserve lives and property and conserve groundwater. this project will cost more than sr 1.8 million. the national center for vegetation development and desertification control (ncvc) is also implementing a project to build infrastructure and service areas for najran national park, costing more than sr 8 million.to promote sustainable development in the rural sector and support smallholder farmers and breeders in the region, the sustainable agricultural rural development program, saudi reef is implementing 5 projects at a cost exceeding 69 million saudi riyals. these projects include constructing and equipping a model farm complex for animal production. the program will also include establishing and equipping a marketing service center for agricultural products in the region, supplying and installing materials for the horticultural research center nurseries, applying sustainable irrigation systems and agricultural techniques for small fruit crop farmers, and establishing a queen bee breeding and parcel production center in the region.​

region. engineer al-fadhli pointed out that the saudi water authority (swa) completed two water projects at a cost of more than 2.3 billion saudi riyals, including a project to construct small desalination plants on the west coast with a design capacity of 93,500 m3 per day to increase the supply of desalinated water in the fields of dheba, al-wajh, and umluj. swa also completed a project to construct compact desalination stations with a design capacity of 72,000 m3 per day to increase the supply of desalinated water in the dheba and umluj fields.the inaugurated projects included 16 projects implemented by the national water company (nwc) to enhance the drinking water distribution system and deliver water and sanitation services in the tabuk region, at a cost of over 860.6 million saudi riyals, including 6 water projects at a cost of over 309 million saudi riyals, that the laying down of more than 290,000 meters of water lines and networks, a purification plant with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day, in addition to the construction of four operational reservoirs with a storage capacity of 6,500 cubic meters, as part of the implementation of water purification plant projects for the comprehensive tabuk water project, the implementation of drinking water networks in the city of tabuk (phase 9), the implementation of drinking water networks in dheba governorate, and the drinking water networks and reservoirs project for the villages of dheba governorate (phase 1), in addition to the implementation of drinking water networks in the districts of abu shajara, al-jaboun, al-ulya, and al-naseem in umluj governorate, and the implementation of the remaining works of the drinking water networks project (phase 5) in taymaa governorate.the national water company (nwc) has also implemented projects to promote environmental sustainability and eliminate environmental damage to the population in tabuk region. these projects included construction of 10 sanitation projects at a cost of over sr 551.6 million, covering more than 433,000 meters of sanitation networks and main lines, in addition, treatment plants with a total capacity of approximately 25,000 cubic meters per day were constructed, along with the implementation of a sewage lines and networks project in tabuk city (phase 12), the extension of sewage networks in the districts of durrat tabuk and alia 2, the establishment of sewage networks in the districts of al-murooj and al-dahia in dheba governorate, the implementation of sewage networks in tayma (phase 5), the expansion of the treatment plant in al-wajh (phase 3), the implementation of the sewage project in umluj governorate (phase one), extending the discharge line from the main pumping station to the treatment plant in umluj governorate, the backup power supply project for treatment plants in tabuk governorates, and the project to deliver sewage services to tabuk university dormatory.the saudi water partnership company (swpc) implemented a project to construct the tabuk (2) plant for wastewater treatment, with a design capacity of 90,000 m3 per day, reaching at peak 135,000 m3, at a total cost of over 550 million saudi riyals, in order to eliminate the environmental impact and utilize treated water in industry and irrigation.the general organization for irrigation (sio) completed two projects to regain well water and prevent flash floods, at a cost of over 92 million saudi riyals, including the construction of the fourth group of dams in the tabuk region (al-baqar dam), with a storage capacity exceeding 3.7 million cubic meters, and the project to construct and complete repairs to the wadi dam in tabuk region, with a storage capacity exceeding 2.5 million cubic meters. two projects were implemented for the cultivation and production of mangrove trees north of the red sea and the protection of new pastoral reserves in the region by the national center for vegetation development and combating desertification (ncvc), at a cost exceeding sr 18 million.in the same context, the national water company implemented 16 projects whose foundation stone were laid at a cost exceeding sr 468.5 million, and a project for the saudi irrigation organization (sio) at a cost of approximately sr 49 million. the ministry of environment, water and agriculture is also implementing two projects at a total cost of over 7.7 million saudi riyals, while the sustainable agricultural rural development program is implementing five projects in the region at a cost of over 45 million saudi riyals. the national center for vegetation development and desertification control (ncvc) is also implementing a project worth approximately sr 10.6 million.​​

​the national water company (nwc) has completed phase 3 of okaz district’s main sewerage line project in southern riyadh. the cost of this phase amounted to more than 45 million saudi riyals. the project aims to achieve environmental sustainability and eliminate environmental damage to the district’s residents.the company explained “the project includes the laying of a main sewage pipeline with different diameters and a total length of over 3.6 kilometers. it is an important part of an integrated plan to implement environmental projects serving more than 30,000 people in okaz district, aiming to eliminate environmental damage, remove visual environmental damage, expand sewerage services and improve environmental services to achieve environmental sustainability goals and enhance the quality of life in line with saudi arabia's vision 2030.nwc explained that this project is part of its ongoing efforts to implement strategic plans that develop the infrastructure of the water and environmental services sectors, expand coverage rates to be in line with the rapid urban growth in riyadh. nwc also highlighted its commitment to achieving its development goals with the highest quality standards in project implementation to achieve the desired objectives in this important vital sector.​

​as part of its ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans to develop infrastructure in the water and sanitation services sectors and increase the coverage of the services it provides to its customers, the national water company (nwc) announced that it has begun implementing nine water and sanitation projects in najran region in the southern cluster. these projects include the construction of water and sanitation lines and networks with a total length of more than 366 kilometers at a cost of more than 551 million saudi riyals.the company indicated that it has begun implementing seven water projects in najran region, which will cover several districts in the city of najran and a number of governorates, including thar, bir askar, qatan, almashaaliya, and al-hussayniya. these projects will include transmission lines and networks exceeding 357 kilometers in length, as well as pumping stations with a total design capacity of over 53,000 cubic meters per day.nwc has also begun implementing two sanitation projects in najran city to connect existing networks in al-ma'amar, rajla, al-hussayn, al-qabel, al-jarbah, al-hudn, al-safa, zor al harith, and zor al ameri districts, and most of the northern districts in najran. these projects will connect the existing sanitation networks in these districts to the existing transmission line, which exceeds 9 kilometers in length. the company will also rehabilitate the sewagetreatment plant (stp) in najran city, which has a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day.nwc emphasized that these projects are part of its efforts to boost the water distribution system, eliminate environmental damage, achieve water security and environmental balance, increase service coverage, and provide sustainable drinking water supplies. the company affirmed that it is continuing to implement its strategic plans to raise operational efficiency in the water and sanitation sectors in accordance with the highest standards of quality and performance to achieve the goals of saudi arabian vision 2030.​

​the national water company (nwc) has begun implementing 19 water and sanitation projects in jazan region of the company’s southern cluster. these crucial projects include the construction of water and sanitation lines and networks exceeding 1,203 kilometers long at a total cost of more than 1.5 billion saudi riyals. this effort is part of nwc's ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans for infrastructure development in the water and environmental services sectors. the projects are based on nwc's initiatives to expand the coverage of the services it provides to its customers.the company stated that the 9 water projects it started implementation in jazan region will cover several districts in jazan city as well as governorates including damad, bish, sabia, and abu arish. these projects will implement water networks exceeding 397 kilometers long, construct two operational tanks with a total capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, and construct pumping stations with a total design capacity of over 60,000 cubic meters per day.nwc has also started implementing 10 sewage projects in the jazan region. these projects will cover several districts of jazan city, farasan, ahad, al masarha, samtah, and sabia governorates, and al hakkamiyah, al khadra, and al musim centers. the total length of the lines and networks exceeds 806 kilometers. in addition, treatment plants will be implemented in jazan city, al-khadra, and al-musim centers with a total design capacity of 24,000 cubic meters per day. lift stations will also be implemented with a total design capacity of 185,000 cubic meters per day.the company stressed that these projects are part of its efforts to strengthen the water distribution system, eliminate environmental damage, achieve water security and ecological balance, increase service coverage, and provide sustainable quantities of drinking water. nwc affirmed that it continues to implement its strategic plans to improve operational efficiency in the water and environmental sectors according to the highest quality and performance standards to reach the goals of saudi arabian vision 2030.​
