News nwc embarks on implementing 15 sanitation projects in jeddah for sr +2.3 billion

​the national water company (nwc) announced that it has started implementing 15 development projects costing more than 2.3 billion saudi riyals and serving more than 1.3 million beneficiaries as part of its strategic plans to improve the level of service and increase the operational efficiency of the wastewater sector.among the projects, that the company has started to implement is the construction of a sewage pipeline from the areas east of haramain road to lift station 2 at the airport, known as the eastern tunnel project in jeddah city. this project costs more than 774 million saudi riyals and is being built using the latest advanced tunneling techniques that do not require a large number of inlets that could affect traffic and services.the company explained that the eastern tunnel project involves the construction of a main transmission line of about 14 kilometers. nwc pointed out that this is one of the most important strategic projects and the main artery to improve the environmental services system and eliminate environmental damage in a number of districts namely braiman, al manar, al ajwad, al samar, al montazah, al tawfiq, al rabieh, marrikh, al waha, and al nakheel, located east of haramain road in jeddah. the company pointed out that the project will avail about 1.1 million beneficiaries.nwc emphasized that it is working to improve the operational efficiency of environmental services and raising the quality of services in the areas east of haramain road through the implementation of the airport's sewage lifting project at a cost of more than 915 million saudi riyals with a capacity of 611,000 m3 per day. this measure aims to reduce pollution and contribute to increasing the coverage of services in the beneficiary districts.the company stated that it has started implementing the sewerage project in the districts of samer 1, 2, 3 and parts of samer 4 in jeddah with a total length of more than 17.8 kilometers and a cost of more than 54 million saudi riyals. this is intended to achieve the strategic corporate goals of eliminating environmental damage, optimizing infrastructure, improving services for the population and supplying 20,000 beneficiaries,nwc is continuing its wastewater disposal projects to increase the coverage of wastewater networks. the company has started implementing 10 projects for feeder sewerage lines to serve a number of districts in jeddah, namely al waha 1, 2 and 3, al shati 2, 3, 4, 5 and parts of al shati 6, parts of al nahda 1 and 3, al zahraa 4 and parts of al zahraa 1, 2 and 3. nwc has also implemented two surface water lowering projects, one in the districts of bahra governorate and the other in the districts of al raya, al mosaid and kilo 14, at a total cost of more than 620 million saudi riyals, covering more than 238 kilometers and serving more than 184,000 beneficiaries.the company emphasized that the remarkable development in the city of jeddah and the tremendous urban renaissance leads to accelerating the development wheel to implement improvement and development projects in accordance with the highest quality standards and performance, and to seek to increase the percentage of services in unserved districts to increase operational efficiency in the water and wastewater sector and achieve the goals of the kingdom's vision 2030.​

News nwc completes water and environmental projects in al kharj and al sulayel at sr +210m

the national water company (nwc), represented by its central cluster, announced the completion of three water and sanitation projects in the governorates of al-kharj and al-sulayel in the riyadh region. the total cost is more than 210 million saudi riyals, including the construction of lines and networks with a length of more than 119 kilometers. this is part of the company's plans to strengthen the infrastructure in the water and environmental services sector and expand the coverage of services provided to customers.in al-kharj governorate, the company implemented phase 6 of the sewage lines and networks with lengths exceeding 47.5 kilometers, in addition to the expansion of the lifting station with a capacity of more than 57,000 cubic meters per day. this will contribute to serving the districts of al-worood, al-fursan, al-aaliya, and al-asamiya, at a total cost of more than 131 million saudi riyals.nwc also completed the implementation of 8 water networks on existing lines and connecting them to desalinated water lines with a total length of nearly 3 kilometers to serve the districts of al-jawhara, al-muhammadiyah, al-hanakia, al-munifiya, al-nasifah, east al-nasifah, al-rashdan, al-slamiya, maqboula, rafi'a, north rafi'a, al-faiha'a and bad'a bin arfaj at a total cost of more than 4. 4 million saudi riyals.in al sulayel governorate, the national water company implemented phase 1 of the sewage networks with a length of about 68.5 kilometers, in addition to the construction of a lifting station with a capacity of about 30,000 cubic meters per day, at a total cost of about 75 million saudi riyals.nwc explained that these projects are part of its ongoing efforts to improve the water distribution system, eliminate environmental impact, and achieve water security and environmental balance. the company emphasize its commitment to continue implementing its strategic plans to improve the operational efficiency of the water and environment sectors according to the highest standards of quality and performance in order to achieve the goals of the kingdom's vision 2030.
