Top of the agenda for the sessions was the establishment of National Water Company, as well as setting NWC and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the Water Center of Excellence in the MENA Region.

The post-global financial crisis environment saw the tremendous increase globally in the use of PPP (Pubcli-Private Partnerships) to finance and deliver critical public works and utilities projects. NWC, has successfully implemented 2 PPP programs accompanied by proven outcome of delivering substantial improvement in the water & wastewater sector in the kingdom, which provided momentum for the company to move from local to international best practice in PPP innovations and methodologies.
