Exceptional Achievement for NWC in its three years

    

 The report issued by the National Water Company; that its success in the completion of the first phase of privatization in the cities covered by the privatization, is a shift in the sectors of water and sanitation, where the establishment of the national water company, a very important achievement, to implement the aspirations of Saudi Arabia, plans to privatize water and sanitation sector, and upgrading services in this sector, on the basis of the strategic objectives are assigned to the structure of the sector, the company started its functions in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, achieving outstanding achievements at the level of infrastructure and quality services, as the company has taken steps towards an accelerated program of privatization and restructuring of the sector in line with the plans and business strategy of the company and gradual transition to privatize the water and sanitation sector on the basis of the methodology and phases according to the approved privatization for cities in Saudi Arabia. This report reviews the most important indicators of performance for the company as well as major achievements during the past three years.
     The company's application for a series of technical procedures in order to create a broad base of technical infrastructure for aligning business requirements and increase their impact in improving the quality of services through simplification and standardization of processes, Wide range of programs and requirements to develop practical solutions to the challenges of sustainable sector according to international standards and with high efficiency where ended, and through an effective performance of national facility is able to keep up with growth and development, Including the application of the company's information system integrated and comprehensive system (Compass), which connects all the technical facilities and services for the water sector and sanitation in the cities, which oversees the company.
The company recently signed a design and implementation contract of the first treatment plant for triple sewage and double the production of electric power and thermal energy in Saudi Arabia in the city of Riyadh with a capacity of (200) thousand cubic meters per day, and the expected amount of electricity produced is (2.5) MW .The duration of the project is (34) months and this project comes within the company's strategy in the sustainable management of environmental resources and renewable energy.
     Now the second largest station for triple sewage treatment and a double production of electric power in the Middle East (airport _2) north of Jeddah (500) thousand cubic meters per day, and produce electricity from sludge 7 MW.
     The value of the collection of revenue as a result of the company to provide services close to 930 million SR in 2011, compared to (561) million in 2008, an average increase up to (66%). The company explained that its efforts in reducing the volume of waste water has been through the application of modern techniques contributed to the decrease in the average time taken to detect leaks and fixing them (96) hours in 2008 to an average of (21) hours in 2011, an increase of improvement reached (78 %). As a result, the high volume of water that have been saved by early detection of leaks in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah from (7.2) million cubic meters in 2008 to (67) million cubic meters in 2011, an increase in the improvement amounted to nine times, Noting that the lengths of water systems that have been examined in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah amounted to more than (57.015 km) since the establishment of the company and to date, while the percentage of improvement between 2008 and 2011, for networks that have been examined (43%).


     The company explained the start of the implementation of sewerage connections in Jeddah ahead of schedule by (7) months, which included the implementation of the infrastructure of tunnels and sub-main lines and in total length (2500) km. It also included the implementation and development of five stations for wastewater treatment amounted to a total capacity of (622) thousand m 3 / day, to become the total energy of the treatment in Jeddah more than a million cubic meters a day.
     The company also achieved an outstanding achievements in saving the environment through the drying of sewage lake east of the city of Jeddah Alaslae valley in three months ahead of schedule by (9) months, which amounted to a size of (2.5) million square meters, Also the company has succeeded in drying another sewerage lake east Nadhim in Riyadh, which the size is about (5) million square meters, and in just two months ahead of schedule by (5) months, were sludge also was environmentally treated in the lake.
