Minister of Finance Dr.Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf praises the achievements of the National Water Company since its inception until the end of 2011, and expansion and its future investment plans, during the meeting which was on Tuesday, 22/3/1433 - 14/2/2012 with HE Eng.Abdullah Abdurrahman Alhossany, Minister of Water and Electricity, Chairman of the National Water Company, and the presence of members of the Board of Directors of the company Dr.Saleh Abdullah Bakhrabh, and His Excellency Mr.Osama Abdul Aziz Rabiah And Dr.Khalid Abdul Aziz Al-Ghonaim, Dr.Suleiman Mohamed Alturkey, His Excellency Chief Executive Officer of the National Water Company Loay Al Musallam, and a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and National Water Company. Minister of Finance commended the achievements of the National Water Company during the last period through projects that have been implemented and standard indicators and achievements that have been achieved despite the short lifetime.  

praising the investment plans of the company by recruit the best competencies and transfer expertise to the Saudi market in the development of water sector and environmental remediation, He also commended the success of the company in drying sewage Lake East Nadeam in Riyadh, in record time, pointing out that it sought to develop the field of water and sanitation in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.

His Excellency the Minister of Water and electricity commented also on the leadership role by the National Water Company in management and operation of the cities that supervised in the water sector and environmental remediation, and advance of customer service stating that the company expanded its activities and provide services through the annexation of the city of Makah and Taif beginning of last year.  During the meeting where the review of economic performance indicators and service achieved by the company during the past period by the application of the company for a series of technical procedures in order to create a broad base of technical infrastructure and technology to adapt the requirements of business and increase their impact in improving the quality of services wide range of programs had been finished and develop practical solutions for sustainable challenges of the sector according to international standards and with high efficiency, which came to keep pace with the directives of the High Commissioner to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in the importance of accelerating the implementation of projects to serve the citizens, have been reducing the number of delayed projects in 2008 of (104) to (18) project in 2011, and reducing the average duration of completed sanitation (180) day in the year 2008, to (23) days in 2011, and achieve a savings of water as a result of early identification of visible and invisible leaks within the modern techniques used, the total savings achieved (67) million cubic meter including amending and financial savings of more than (400) million SR during the last year 2011, after the application of the methodology that aims to raise the rates of performance, and reduce operating costs, and improve water demand management.

Also briefing the audience on efforts in the sanitation sector in Jeddah, which centered on the launch of the sewage system for the northern central region and ahead of schedule by (7) months, and the implementation and development of five stations for sewage treatment with a total capacity of (622) thousand m 3 / day, to become a total energy of the treatment in Jeddah more than a million cubic meters per day, and implementing the fourth-largest pumping station in the world with a pump of one million m 3 / day, and begin to implement the first phase of house connections to the north-central region (132) thousand households, and comes as part of plans by the company (Enjaz) to speed up the mechanism of implementation of projects and reduce implementation period of 5 to 3 years.

They also reviewed the company's efforts in preserving the environment through the drying of sewage lake in eastern district Nadeam in Riyadh and treatment of sludge and sediment environmental in record time, reaching an area of Lake Nadeam five million square meters and the project have been implemented within a short period of just two months before the deadline by (5) months, And processing rate of (100%) of the sludge in the bottom of the lake, in addition to the company's efforts in the success of Hajj season for the year 1432, which is represented in the success of demand management without breaks and ensure the delivery of water on an ongoing basis throughout the pilgrimage season.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Water and Electricity, Chairman of the National Water Company, and the executive team of the National Water Company thank His Excellency the Minister of Finance, the company's support and confidence in the continuation of its efforts for the betterment of the services sectors of water and sanitation, was presented by HE the President of the Board of Directors and the Board members a copy of the International Prize for the best environmental project for the year 2011, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, which the company earned a result of drying of sewage Lake in Jeddah.
