The 2008 inception and transformation of the world-class National Water Company (NWC) from the Ministry of Water and Electricity grew out of the desire to better serve the needs of its customers and employees. This recent development originated from the top leadership within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and chiefly from his Royal Highness, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah. The water sector is of particular importance given the geographical location of the Kingdom. It was with this in mind, along with a strong desire for economic growth and infrastructure development, that the Kingdom decided to privatize its national utility services. This has been done in the hopes that it will bring increased operational efficiency into the areas of water and wastewater management, while simultaneously contributing to the broader goals of the Kingdom's development strategy.
The National Water Company is dedicated to providing quality water and wastewater management services to all citizens and residents, while promoting and encouraging skill enhancement and career progress for its employees and staff. It is the collective efforts and shared responsibility of the government and the employees of the National Water Company that will propel the Kingdom and its water and wastewater management utility sector into a position where high-quality service is both the standard and the norm. |
